FAQ

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?

For most areas I use a hard" wax that shrink wraps & hardens around the hair, not adhering to the skin for a much more comfortable wax. For larger areas I use an award winning "soft" wax that is removed with cloth strips.

HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR HAVE TO BE?

About 1/4 inch, the size of a grain of rice.

HOW LONG WILL MY WAX LAST?

Once all your hair is on the same cycle you can expect a MINIMUM of 1-2 weeks of being HAIR FREE!

WILL MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER/DARKER?

On the contrary, waxing regularly allows the hair to grow in softer and finer.

MEDS TO AVOID WHILE WAXING:

-RETIN-A ( many names such as but not limited to Adapalene, Tazorac, Differin, Renova)

-ACCUTANE

-AHA's/BHA's

-ANTIBIOTICS

-HORMONE MEDS

-CHEMOTHERAPY/RADIATION DRUGS

-ALWAYS ASK IF YOU'RE NOT SURE!

WHO GETS WAXED?

Everybody! Woman or Man, Young or Old. All shapes and sizes welcome!

- Under 18 needs parents permission.

HOW DO I PICK A GOOD WAXER?

-Your waxer should be a licensed Cosmetologist  or Esthetician. Waxing is technical as well as experience is required. While everyone has to start somewhere if you're waxing a sensitive area it's best to look for experience.

-Cleanliness is a must! ( no double dipping)

HOW TO PREPARE?

-1/4 inch of hair

-Exfoliate

-Avoid lotions/oils

-No sunburn/fresh tan

-Avoid caffeine

CAN I WAX ON MY PERIOD?

Sure, however most women tend to be a little sensitive on their cycle and right before. Come in with a new tampon for Bikini/Brazilian waxing.

CAN I WAX IF IM PREGNANT?

YES! I can reach where you can't!

HOW CAN I PREVENT AN INGROWN HAIR?

An ingrown hair is basically a hair that cannot make its way up through the skin and it gets inflamed and sometimes infected. The best way to prevent ingrown is to exfoliate. Removing dead skin allows the hair to easily come up through the follicle. ( INGROWN HAIR PRODUCTS COMING SOON)

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY WAXED AREA AFTERWARDS?

-Avoid anything that makes you red,hot and sweaty. ( Saunas, Steam Rooms, Jacuzzis, Excessive Exercise)

-Avoid Swimming Pools.

-No exfoliation for 48 hours.

- Where loose fitting clothing.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO WAX?

In order to get all of your hair on the same cycle its important to come every 3-4 weeks. That is the length of time of a growth cycle. In between waxing you should not shave. After coming 4-5 times regularly (3-4 weeks apart) without shaving, your hairs will all be on the same cycle. When this happens you will have less hair popping up in between waxes as well as a cleaner wax.
